WORKWEAR INVESTIGATION

The CorporateBlazer Edit.

A blazer is supposed to be armour for the 9-to-5 — until you check the label and it's polyester wearing a linen photo. We went through the office rail and pulled five that would survive a fibre audit: real linen, real cotton, nothing synthetic doing the structural work.

THE EDIT

5 blazers, zero polyester

No performance-stretch lining, no "faux linen" polyester doing a convincing impression of the real thing. Every blazer below is checked against the brand's own composition label, and every single one is entirely natural fibre — linen or cotton, and nothing else — cut for a day that runs from the 9am stand-up to whatever you didn't plan for after.

01
Boden Stamford Linen Blazer in navy
80% Linen, 20% Recycled Linen BODEN

Stamford Linen Blazer

There's a reason this one keeps showing up on "work capsule" lists: a revere collar, neat contrast piping and proper welt pockets give it the shape of something from Savile Row, while the actual construction is fully linen — recycled linen, no less — in a semi-fitted cut that won't wilt by lunchtime. Marked down by more than half, which isn't a sentence you often get to write about tailoring.

Massimo Dutti 100% linen melange blazer
100% Linen MASSIMO DUTTI

100% Linen Melange Blazer

Massimo Dutti's tailoring rarely goes on sale, so a linen blazer at £59.95 — down from £141 — is worth moving on quickly. Notched lapels, buttoned cuffs, two flap pockets, and a melange texture that reads more "considered" than "ironed this morning." There's a matching trouser too, if a full linen suit is the actual goal.

Whistles Ivory Collarless Linen Blazer
100% Linen WHISTLES

Ivory Collarless Linen Blazer

Skip the lapels entirely. Whistles' collarless cut is lightweight linen in a clean ivory, built with a relaxed hourglass shape and flapped pockets that read considered rather than casual. It's the blazer that works whether you're presenting to the board or just want to look like you have your life together on the commute.

Sisley Pure Linen Blazer in dark brown
100% Linen SISLEY

Pure Linen Blazer

A dark brown that photographs almost black under office lighting, cut in a regular fit with double-welt pockets and a single-breasted closure. No lining trickery here — it's linen through and through, structured enough to hold its shape through a full working day and easy enough to throw over jeans once you clock out.

05
Boden Stamford Linen Blazer in brown ivory ticking stripe
80% Linen, 20% Recycled Linen BODEN

Stamford Linen Blazer, Ticking Stripe

Same Savile-Row-adjacent cut as #01, this time in a ticking stripe that reads more "creative director" than "compliance officer" — proof a fully linen blazer doesn't have to be plain to be office-appropriate. Still 80% linen, 20% recycled linen, still under £80 in the sale.
